Get in Touch Our ServicesEnterprise Architect and independent consultant with 38+ years in information technology, utilities, and oil & gas.
Marc brings over 38 years of experience within the Information Technology industry, spanning roles from programmer to Chief Information Officer. He has served as Enterprise Architect at Snohomish County PUD for approximately two decades, developing deep expertise in utility business and IT strategy.
His career includes 10 years as CIO at Seattle Housing Authority and 10 years in the oil & gas sector with ExxonMobil, BP, Unocal, and ConocoPhillips. This breadth of experience informs a pragmatic, cross-industry perspective on enterprise architecture and technology strategy.
Beginning January 2026, Marc provides independent consulting services with a focus on Distributed Energy Resources, SAP for Utilities, and enterprise architecture strategy for utility organizations.
Focused on connecting utilities with each other — all free, no paywall or contract, just connecting and learning from each other. We also offer individual consulting engagements for utilities navigating DER integration, SAP transformation, and enterprise technology strategy.
Utilities are now being asked by regulators for Demand Side Management in order to support load growth (data centers, EVs, etc.) as well as climate change. The demand side of electric utilities has always been organized differently inside each utility. Bringing all the individuals together to run a DSM program is complex in people, technology, and process. Let's discuss the issues together.
We support multiple utility run groups on various SAP topics including EAM, ERP, and ISU. Smaller groups on FSM/SSAM, Enterprise Forms, ADMS, and DER are also meeting. Let us know your interest over at utility.community and join the conversation.
With 18 years of experience leading enterprise architecture at a utility, there is a lot to discuss and share. We can help with architecture assessments, technology roadmaps, governance frameworks, business capability modeling, and so much more. AI has made EA that much more important, so get your foundation of EA in place so you can build your people and processes as well as your technology.
We have ongoing research into the Autonomous Enterprise with SAP's launch at Sapphire this year, as well as planning work for the SAP 4 Utilities conference in October in San Antonio. Distributed Energy Resources is a key focus area for the future of electric utilities and their ongoing transition to include the customer side in running the grid.
AMI/ADMS/grid modernization advisory services — including program planning, vendor selection, and architecture reviews
Building a team of professionals who are ready to help you and your utility succeed takes planning and training. We can help you make peer contacts and find someone who has your same role at another utility. Don't go it alone.
